RICHARD BELAND
Richard Beland, a Canadian music photographer and educator, is based in Sarnia, Ontario. Initially pursuing Mechanical Engineering, his passion for photography inspired a career shift, leading him to dedicate four years to studying the craft.
After completing his studies, he spent over 20 years in Toronto, capturing the energy of the city’s vibrant music scene. His portfolio features international artists such as Coldplay, Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, and AC/DC, as well as Canadian bands like The Tragically Hip and Nickelback. His expertise spans live performance photography, studio portraits, and corporate projects.
Richard’s skill set also includes real estate photography. His ability to present properties visually helps homeowners and developers connect with prospective buyers and renters effectively.
Beyond photography, he serves as an educator, leading the Digital Photography Program at Lambton College in Sarnia. This two-year diploma program, which he developed, reflects his commitment to mentoring aspiring photographers and sharing his extensive knowledge.
Richard also explores fine art photography and preservation. Using scanning and printing techniques rooted in his early darkroom experiences, he applies modern digital tools to safeguard the longevity of visual art.
